Podcasting for PR

This week in PR 2.0 we read about how the pros use social media to reach powerful communities. Bussiness who are heavily into social networking really have two jobs because contributing and monitoring your sites as much as one would need to do, is a second full time job. In chapter 12 Deidre talked about Mark Skrobola the founder of a New Jersey based art bussiness. His bussiness is called Art eXposed and it is just what it sounds like. A website that showcases his artisits artwork on the internet.

Because his site's main focus is artwork which is visual, Skrobola had to experiement with new ways to showcase the most important aspect of his bussiness. I think it is amazing how Skrobola spends 50% of his time updating blogs and classifieds on myspace, and just recently he is working on his artists getting video demonstrations on YouTube. YouTube in of itself would be a fantastic way to not only showcase his artists work but get PR out of the deal as well. With YouTube having the capability for anyone to embed a link into their facebook, blog, myspace ect. there is free publicity right there.

The power of youtube is really big in my opinion. Simply having the right keywords, content, and placement can really bring in a whole new audience especially for visual artists such as your example.
